Uncommon Education Curriculum Review

What do financial literacy, economics, accounting, entrepreneurship, marketing, emotional intelligence, the science of happiness, communication, and negotiation skills have in common? These subjects are not currently part of public school curriculum — or mostly any curriculum for that matter — yet they are incredibly important for kids and young adults to learn! We recently found a program, Uncommon Education, which is the first online, teacher-led program that focuses on teaching children ages 8-18 some of the subjects they should be learning in school, but aren’t. The program is designed to create a path to each child’s success and fulfillment as they advance through each 24-week level to adulthood. This is done through interactive courses that students love. Students are encouraged to exchange ideas, and learn through habit and mindset training.  These classes are 1-hour a week through Zoom, and with their small class sizes, it’s the perfect addition to any homeschooling curriculum.

It’s time to prepare your child for the real world!

At Uncommon Education, their mission is to offer your child the supplemental education they need in order to not only succeed, but to experience true fulfillment. They want to give your child the tools to succeed at an early age, so they don’t need to work on discovering new ways of thinking later in life.

Research shows that there are nine proven factors that can accelerate success in your career and life:

  1. Education
  2. Skill
  3. Contacts
  4. Financial Literacy
  5. Good Work Habits
  6. Positive Mental Attitude
  7. Positive Image
  8. Creativity
  9. Character

Uncommon Education’s goal is to equip your child with all the other factors for success through their carefully designed courses that focus not only on lessons on emotional intelligence, self awareness, logic, financial literacy, entrepreneurship and other courses that are not normally offered in our schools , but also on teaching your child to question everything, to develop healthy habits, and to understand that success and happiness are subjective, that we are all different therefore our needs are not the same.

So, why do we recommend trying Uncommon Education in your homeschooling? Here are just a few reasons why:

  1. Uncommon Education provides interactive classes
  2. There is a structured curriculum to follow
  3. They have small class sizes
  4. There is plenty of 1 on 1 time for your student
  5. Your student receives a completion certificate at the end of the course
  6. They provide a 2-week free trial so you can see if this is something your child enjoys

So, what do their courses look like? They have classes for ages 8-18. I will go into each of their courses below so you get a better idea of what they offer. I personally think all students should have access to classes like these and I’m so glad we found a company like Uncommon Education to help fill the need!
