ShillerLearning Language Arts

ShillerLearning’s goal is to help every child reach their full potential by providing the finest possible curriculum for use in the home.

Our philosophy is that children aren’t taught: they learn. And we are here to provide the finest possible learning tools for your children to reach their full potential. All you need to do, as the educator, is to provide the right learning environment. ShillerLearning – and your child – provide the rest.

ShillerLearning, part of the non-profit Rising Stars Foundation, provides Montessori-based language arts for pre-k3 through 4th grade, the core knowledge areas that let young students flourish, as well as other multisensory resources to homeschool families with children of all abilities – ages 3-16.

With ShillerLearning, parents have the reassurance that they can provide a high-quality, robust education to their young ones without having to spend time on lesson preparation or investing thousands in curriculum. Scripted lessons, a multisensory, Montessori approach, and placement testing, ShillerLearning provides a nurturing yet efficient solution.

Our toll-free phone support, homeschool blog, Facebook group, free webinars, and additional homeschool resources keep you supported and encouraged throughout your journey. Live online Math Facts Boot Camp class for kids and downloadable activity packs are also available.

ShillerLearning added the language arts curriculum in 2016 at the request of many of our happy customers. The curriculum is divided into two kits that can be purchased as a physical or digital kit. All items are available individually as well. The two kits are Language Arts Kit A (pre-k/kindergarten) and Language Arts Kit B (1st through 4th).

Language Arts Kit A Physical (pre-k through kindergarten):

When you buy the kit, you save. Phonics, reading, storytelling, pre-writing, beginner spelling, beginner grammar (noun, verb, article, adjective), and typing for 3-to-6-year-olds. Your pre-k, kindergarten, or 1st-grade student will learn letter sounds, letter names, begin to blend CVC words (plus so much more), and most importantly – learn to LOVE language arts.

This comprehensive all-in-one language arts program features Montessori-based, scripted, multi-sensory activities that make abstract concepts like letters concrete, then gracefully transition the child to the abstract. Language Arts Kit A uses the same, proven methodology found in ShillerLearning Math Kits I, II, and Fractions. Free lifetime downloads of music and replacement consumables for use with the whole family means one kit works for the whole family with nothing else to buy! See samples from Language Arts Kit A here.

Language Arts Kit A Digital

Nothing to ship! Everything is downloadable upon purchase. Besides providing a stellar Montessori-based education for pre-k through 1st-grade, Language Arts Kit A Digital is also recommended to fill the holes in the phonics, reading, story-telling, spelling, pre-writing, and grammar foundations of older students without digging a money hole. Language Arts Kit B Physical (1st-4th grade):

Reading, spelling, phonics, literature, composition, handwriting, and typing for 6-to-9-year-olds. Your child is ready for this level when he or she knows the letter names and sounds and are beginning to blend simple CVC words. (Consider popular Language Arts Kit A if you are beginning or still working on those skills.)

Around the World in 80 Activities

Greetings Explorers! The team at ShillerLearning is thrilled to bring you this 96-page PDF “Around the World in 80 Activities” geography and culture activity pack for homeschooling preschool through middle school.

If you read one book per week and complete one or two of the other options, this pack will last you an entire school year. We also provide a guide to correlate lessons from ShillerLearning math and language arts kits.

Many activities can be done with multiple ages together, while some are specifically targeted towards a specified age group. See more information about this activity pack here

Sensory Activity Pack

Multisensory activities are a key component of Montessori learning.

Engage the whole family with multi-sensory fun using many materials you already have in the house.

Children love to learn through their senses. By stimulating the senses, we activate

different parts of the brain. This helps children cement concepts and love learning!

Sensorial works are also helpful for children to learn more about their bodies, how they work, and how they fit into the world.

You will find sensory activities in everything we do. These are some of our favorites!

These may work best presented over a period of several weeks or months. Some may even find themselves a full-time place on your shelves or a regular repeat in your homeschool or classroom.

Includes beautiful printables in a 25-page PDF. See more information here

Grace and Courtesy Activity Pack

Mastering these skills will make daily life easier and cultivate genuine gratitude and manners!

In this 28-page PDF activity pack, you’ll find Montessori-inspired works to help your child gain a greater understanding of grace and courtesy: order, social skills, gratitude, family interactions, and interacting in the community.

“Grace and Courtesy” is a phrase that is used widely in Montessori schools.

Now more than ever in our digital era, grace and courtesy are important. Once grace and courtesy become a habit, your child will say “please” and “thank you” without reminding, find ways to help others, and find greater joy.

It’s best to spread each work out over several days, allowing the child to play and act out what has been learned. Revisit concepts as needed.

At the end of this activity pack, there are two pages of Achievement Badges. After your child finishes a work, have them color in an achievement badge. These would also be fun to cut apart and give to your child as collector cards after they complete a work. See more information here

US President Nomenclature Cards

A full set of nomenclature cards (3-part cards) for the 46 US presidents. 90 beautiful printables in this high-quality, affordable instant download! See more information here
