What is Help Teaching?

Help Teaching provides printable and online tests, worksheets, lessons, and games for grades PreK-12. Founded in 2008, the site has grown from a few hundred questions to over 1 million members worldwide, over 1 million tests created, and over 1 million questions added.

Help Teaching’s online question bank and free and premium worksheets feature content for all major subject areas, including English, math, science, and social studies, as well as vocational education, early education, art and music, and life skills worksheets.  Additionally, subscribers have access to a series of online lessons and TestRoom, Help Teaching’s platform for administering online tests and quizzes to students.

About a Help Teaching Subscription

After creating an account, users gain access to many of Help Teaching’s worksheets and materials. By upgrading to a Pro subscription, users can:

  • create unlimited tests and worksheets.
  • add up to 100 questions per worksheet.
  • save their own tests as PDFs.
  • use pre-created questions with images.
  • upload images to add to questions.
  • access pre-made premium content.

As part of Help Teaching’s Test Maker platform, users can create the following question types:

  • Multiple choice
  • True/False
  • Open-ended
  • Fill-in-the-blank
  • Matching Grid
  • Matching List

Additionally, users can use Help Teaching’s game and puzzle generator to create math skills practice worksheets, bingo games, and word searches.

Users who choose to use pre-made tests or develop tests with Help Teaching’s question bank will find high-quality content complete with answer keys.  

Online Lessons

All online, self-paced lessons found on Help Teaching were created by actual teachers and were designed to be under 10 minutes long to help introduce or reinforce key concepts. Videos feature background music, narration, and engaging content. All lessons are accompanied by short quizzes and worksheets designed for further practice or assessment of the lesson content.

Lessons in math, science, English/language arts, and social studies were designed for grades K-12 and even include read-alouds of classic stories for children.

Help Teaching by Grade Level

Early Education: Materials in Help Teaching’s Early Education section cover basic skills, such as color and shape recognition, numbers and letter identification, beginning reading skills, fine motor skills, and early science and thinking skills, including learning how to follow directions Worksheets feature colorful images, fun fonts, and easy-to-follow instructions.

Parents and educators can also print fun letter coloring pages and mini books for kids to cut out, color, and put together.

Elementary Education: Help Teaching’s elementary worksheets cover the core subjects: math, science, reading, and social studies. Math worksheets include daily practice activities, basic arithmetic skills, and beginning algebraic and geometric concepts, as well as worksheets on statistics and probability. 

Science worksheets cover life science, physical science, and earth and space science, as well as the scientific method and skills. Many of the science worksheets and lessons align with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

Reading worksheets feature premium reading passages at various Lexile levels, as well as worksheets covering key reading strategies, such as comparing/contrasting, cause/effect, and making inferences and drawing conclusions. Subscribers will also find worksheets for many popular picture books and novels. Beyond that, Help Teaching language arts worksheets cover the basics of grammar and punctuation and also include printable handwriting practice sheets, as well as pre-created spelling lists which feature Dolch Sight Words, Fry Words, and other grade-level appropriate words.

Elementary learners can also access a series of seasonal worksheets. Worksheets cover each of the four seasons and major holidays found within each season. Many worksheets use seasonal images to help reinforce basic math and reading skills.

Middle School Education: Content for middle school math worksheets covers number systems and algebra, geometry, and statistics and probability. Science worksheets cover life science (anatomy, physiology, botany, ecology, and zoology), physical science (chemistry and physics), and earth and space science (geology and astronomy). Many science skills also include reading passages and worksheets to help students learn to think like scientists.

English/language arts worksheets include writing prompts, informational reading passages, grammar worksheets, and vocabulary practice. Content helps improve critical reading skills. Help Teaching also includes worksheets designed to accompany many middle grade, young adult, and classic novels.

High School Education: Math worksheets at the high school level cover everything from basic algebra and trigonometry to geometry, statistics, and calculus. All worksheets have been created by high school and college-level math teachers and many feature complex problems for students to solve. Similarly, all science worksheets were created by science teachers and professors. Worksheets cover science skills and applications, earth science, and biology. Additionally, the site offers chemistry and physics worksheets which include AP level practice opportunities.

High school English worksheets help students improve their grammar skills and learn to distinguish between frequently confused words. Reading passages help build key reading skills through higher-level reading passages. Subscribers will also find worksheets to accompany the study of classic novels.

Parents and educators may also choose to use Help Teaching’s life skills worksheets to help students learn about driving skills, personal hygiene, job search and resume skills, and the basics of cooking and cleaning. Vocational Education: Vocational Education worksheets help students learn skills related to the trades, including cosmetology, carpentry, plumbing, business technology, and culinary arts. All worksheets were created by professionals in their fields. Many feature real-world problems to solve and incorporate high quality images.
